Poppy Appeal 2021 – celebrating 100 years of giving
Collection dates this year are from Saturday the 30th October until Saturday 13th November, the eve of Remembrance Sunday.
Poppies in “Gift–aid” envelopes will be posted through letter boxes in early October and there will be a ‘Poppy Shop’ in the porch of Gill
House. Sealed envelopes can be posted through the inner door letter box and the porch will contain a display of other items for sale including large and small poppies, 2021 enamel poppy pins, VE poppy pins, poppy bracelets, magnetic car, van and lorry poppies, wooden crosses, wrist bands and other miscellaneous items.
Last year the Parish collected the magnificent sum of £940.83 – a significant contribution from a small village such as ours. This is so much appreciated by the Royal British Legion, whose efforts to care
for so many of our wounded, mentally distressed and ageing ex-servicemen and women just cannot be underestimated.
Furthermore a considerable proportion of last year’s collection was
‘Gift-aided’. It does make such a difference – an extra 25p is added for every £ donated to the Royal British Legion.
Thank you all so much for your cooperation.
