The Brentor Website

Brentor Village website began with a meeting of interested Brentor residents in August 2008, after two residents - John Wheeler and Alan Ray-Jones - said that they were willing to do the work needed to establish the site.  This website was launched under the auspices of the Brentor Community Trust in April 2009, with Alan Ray-Jones as general editor.

In 2010 the general editorship passed to another Brentor resident, Colin Dawes, who managed the site until 2022 with John Wheeler and Dave Calder providing free technical support. The site is now run by Brentor Parish Council after the Parish Council stepped in to ensure that the Brentor Community Trust continued after the retirement of the trustees.

In 2022 three additional news editors joined the editorial team when the website took on the role of providing all the village news following the cessation of the printed newsletter Brentor News. Later in the year Colin decided to take a well earned break and a new general editor took over and responsibility for this website passed to Brentor Parish Council. The Brentor Community Trust had been wound up after many years of serving the village as long-serving trustees retired and no replacements could be found. The Parish Council stepped in to preserve the Trust and keep this website and the Brentor Living Archive running.
