Advice on registering for the USO broadband scheme

Local residents have produced a guide to applying for the Universal Service Obligation (broadband) scheme.  During some of the applications so far considerable difficulties have been encountered, but thanks to the perseverance of a number of residents these have largely been overcome.  New applications should be considerably easier!

It is now expected that the new network will be built within the next 18 months and should be provided at no cost to residents in West Blackdown and Station View. However residents in the centre of Brentor have been asked for between £8,000 to over £30,000 to be connected, so work in lobbing our local MP and Ofcom is needed to reduce this to £zero!

This advice sheet should help you in negotiating your way through the application process.  If you do have difficulties please feel free to contact Colin Dawes at brentorvillage@btinternet.com .
